Summary

Establish an open workspace for everyone to use, suitable for group work, projects and handicrafts. The equipment and tools would be shared, supporting community building and the exchange of skills.

Proposal description

The city should open a maker space in the Northern Central Helsinki area, where students could come and work on their projects together. The space could have sewing machines, craftsmanship tools, fabric printing and other communal tools.

This space could bring the community together, with the elderly sharing skills for others. The space could be implemented in existing spaces with a similar concept to the Oodi maker space. Opening a new space in this area would help decentralize the services.
