We propose creating 2 themed reading & play rooms in South Haaga Library: Lemon Room & Watermelon Room. Inspired by Oodi’s popular Tangerine Room, they will feature soft, curved seating, cozy pillows & a variety of sensory-friendly materials and textures. The spaces will offer children, incl. those with ADHD, autism or sensory sensitivities, a welcoming place to read, relax and play. They will increase reading space, encourage focus, support inclusion and make the library more enjoyable for all.
Target group of the proposal
Children and families, especially young children and those with sensory sensitivities.
What will improve if the proposal is implemented?
More cozy, inclusive spaces for reading and play, supporting focus and comfort for all children.
