Kaupunki on tehnyt viherkattolinjauksen 2016 jossa luvataan edistää viherkattojen rakentamista. Nyt kaupunki voisi lunastaa lupauksensa antamalla konkreettista apua, neuvontaa ja rahoitusta taloyhtiöille, jotka haluavat muuttaa kattonsa viherkatoiksi, parantaen näin hulevesien imeytymistä ja luonnon monimuotoisuutta rakennetulla aluella. Esim. Itä- ja Länsi-Pasila olisivat potentiaalisia paikkoja toteuttaa viherkattokokeiluja tasakatoilla.
