Lapinlahden alue on 180 vuotta vanha, silti vasta hiljattain yleisölle auennut kulttuuriympäristökokonaisuus, johon liittyy olennaisesti Suomen mielenterveyden hoidon historia. Alueen kaupunkiluonto on myös ainutlaatuinen. Puiston historiasta ja luontoarvoista kertova polku tuo kaupunkilaisille tietoa ja hyvinvointia yhteisestä kulttuuriperinnöstä. Polku kiertäisi aluetta ja taulut sijoitettaisiin kiinnostaviin kohteisiin. Polku liittäisi puiston hienolla tavalla Helsingin rantareittiin.
