Jätkäsaaresta puuttuu avoimia tiloja asukastoiminnalle ja harrastuksille. Hankkeessa kehitetään pilottikokeilun avulla Jätkäsaareen monipuolisia vapaa-ajan palveluita (lainaamot, käsityö- ja harrastustilat ym.) tarjoava uuden ajan asukaskeskus palkkaamalla kirjaston yhteyteen yhteisöllisyyden ja asukastoiminnan koordinaattori vastaavalla konseptilla kuin aiempien kierrosten hankkeessa ”Jätkäsaaren kirjastosta uuden ajan asukaskeskus”. Rahoitusta tarvitaan myös tilavuokriin ja toimintakuluihin.
