Kontrasti rakenteilla olevan uuden Pasilan ja jo olemassa olevan Pasilan välillä on kasvamassa liian suureksi. Itä-Pasilan ylläpitoon ei ole vuosikausiin saatu lainkaan parannusta. Alueella on paljon siltoja, portaikkoja ja siltojen alustoja jotka ovat synkkiä ja sotkettuja. Vaihtamalla jalankulkusiltojen harmaat levykaiteet läpinäkyviin metalliverkkoihin sekä lisäämällä portaikkoihin valaistusta, alueen yleisilme paranisi ja Itä-Pasilassa liikkumisesta tulisi viihtyisämpää ja turvallisempaa.
