Procuring 3D printers for all libraries in the area

Project

3D printers will be procured for all libraries in the major district of Northeastern Helsinki that do not yet have them. This will strengthen the equal opportunities of local people to use and study modern digital manufacturing technology near their home. Procuring 3D printers will also facilitate local residents’ interest in crafts and art.

Timeline

1. 1
   Toukokuu 2020

   Determining the need for furniture and the placement of printers. We will establish what furniture the libraries may need for the 3D printers and where the printers will be placed in the library space.

2. 2
   Toukokuu 2020

   Ordering printers and furniture. We will order the furniture as well as the 3D printers, materials and necessary accessories.

3. 3
   Kesäkuu 2020

   3D printer installation, testing and staff training. The equipment and furniture are expected to arrive in June, at which time we will install them in place and train the staff in their use.

   3D-tulostimet saadaan viimein käyttöön kirjastoissa 5.10.
