In OmaStadi, residents and city employees design the OmaStadi projects to be implemented together. The outcome of this co-creation process is project plans for the OmaStadi projects that will be carried out. You can influence the implementation of the projects by commenting on them on the OmaStadi website between 20 April and 1 June 2026. You are warmly welcome to take part in planning the projects on 27 May 2026 from 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. at the Central Library Oodi. OmaStadi is Helsinki's participatory budgeting process. Through OmaStadi, Helsinki residents can propose and vote for how the city spends 10 million euros.

OmaStadi makes Helsinki better – do you know what participatory budgeting is?

OmaStadi is Helsinki´s participatory budgeting process. The fourth round of OmaStadi is currently underway. The budget available for this round is EUR 10 million. Helsinki residents will be able to vote for their favourite OmaStadi proposals from 11 to 29 March 2026.

One mall, over a hundred events – culture is created together in Kontula

The Kontula Cultural Mall, made possible by OmaStadi, had an exceptionally varied programme in 2025, offering everything from magic to crafts and from noise music to food experiences. The events were attended by more than 11,000 people.

Meeting people and growing together – OmaStadi has brought community to Helsinki

OmaStadi funding has been used to organise events that bring people together all around Helsinki. It has helped with renovating the canopy kiosk near Arabianaukio Square into a meeting place for local residents and strengthening the emotional and interaction skills of schoolchildren, among other initiatives.
