The OmaStadi voting is open from 11 to 29 March 2026. All Helsinki residents aged 13 and above are eligible to vote. OmaStadi is Helsinki's participatory budgeting process. Through OmaStadi, you can propose how the city should spend 10 million euros. Proposals were collected in autumn 2025, after which the City has evaluated the proposals and prepared cost estimates. The city will implement the proposals that receive the most votes.

Renovating the park could include redesigning the paths, pond, waterfall, amphitheatre, lighting and furniture (benches, ping‑pong table) as well as adding more waste containers.

A public sauna is proposed for the Kivikko outdoor area on Savikiekontie, offering a warm place to relax after outdoor exercise and frisbee golf.

A large, easily visible clock — also readable from the sea — would be a useful addition to Aurinkolahti Beach, along with benches and an annual street food event.

Building and renovating outdoor trails in Veijarivuori

The southern walking path in Veijarivuorenpuisto needs to be constructed properly. At the moment, there is only a worn footpath, which is in poor condition and causing damage to the terrain. The path network is heavily used and should be improved.

Making Esterinpuisto in West Pasila a pleasant place to spend time

The paths and stairs leading to Esterinpuisto are worn and there is no lighting. The park has become overgrown. Renovation would benefit residents and users of the nearby youth centre.

Renovation of the sports field and surroundings near Puistola Service Home

Improve the playfield and surrounding area next to Puistola Service Home by renewing benches, bins and plantings, improving accessibility of the paths and enlarging the sand field.

Renovation of the Tuorinniemi dog enclosure

Dog enclosures would be renewed by enlarging the small-dog area, adding lighting and seating, fixing fences and removing stumps.

OmaStadi makes Helsinki better – do you know what participatory budgeting is?

OmaStadi is Helsinki´s participatory budgeting process. The fourth round of OmaStadi is currently underway. The budget available for this round is EUR 10 million. Helsinki residents will be able to vote for their favourite OmaStadi proposals from 11 to 29 March 2026.

One mall, over a hundred events – culture is created together in Kontula

The Kontula Cultural Mall, made possible by OmaStadi, had an exceptionally varied programme in 2025, offering everything from magic to crafts and from noise music to food experiences. The events were attended by more than 11,000 people.

Meeting people and growing together – OmaStadi has brought community to Helsinki

OmaStadi funding has been used to organise events that bring people together all around Helsinki. It has helped with renovating the canopy kiosk near Arabianaukio Square into a meeting place for local residents and strengthening the emotional and interaction skills of schoolchildren, among other initiatives.
