Sensory-Friendly Reading Rooms for Haaga Library

Ehdotus

We propose creating 2 themed reading & play rooms in South Haaga Library: Lemon Room & Watermelon Room. Inspired by Oodi’s popular Tangerine Room, they will feature soft, curved seating, cozy pillows & a variety of sensory-friendly materials and textures. The spaces will offer children, incl. those with ADHD, autism or sensory sensitivities, a welcoming place to read, relax and play. They will increase reading space, encourage focus, support inclusion and make the library more enjoyable for all.
