There are lots of different organizations and associations in Finland doing a great job of providing support to people in various spheres of life. However, it can be often heard from residents, especially with immigrant background, that they don't know where to go or who to call, and that they haven't heard about many of the services that are being provided (sport classes, language cafes, community meetings, etc.). It would be great to have a single database (website) of these organizations and their services - similar to e.g. uusimaalaiset.fi - but also in English and other languages. Because if people do not yet know good Finnish, how can they learn about support services for women, kids, elderly, etc. or about volunteering opportunities or other social projects if they want to participate?
