Plurilingual and participative HELMET platform for children’s and young’s literature.

Create a platform which operates within / together with HELMET to allow pluricultural families to have access to the libraries and literature world in their families languages.

Many children living in Helsinki have a parent whose nationality is not Finnish and who wants to promote the constant learning and practice of their own languages at home.

It is important, therefore to facilitate these families the possibility of finding literature in languages different from the official ones (Finnish and Swedish).

It is functional as an open platform available in the different languages (Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, English, among others)

It is useful because it motivates young families to have access to the new material (books) in their own family languages.

This suggestion will support the development of children’s own identity which is built up by both parents language and cultural backgrounds.
