This is a preliminary plan of the City of Helsinki
The page presents a compilation of plans that fit the district's OmaStadi budget. They do not yet have funding from the city budget. You can speed up the implementation of a particular plan and suggest it as it is or take ideas from it and use them as a basis for your proposal. You can submit the OmaStadi proposal in the "Submit a proposal" section.
The city prepares plans to ensure that the city's services are implemented equally in different parts of the city in the future. In this way, the city responds to the changing needs of its residents.
The city will implement this plan in the coming years if the City Council decides to fund it in the city budget.
Plan
Renovations of the park areas with cultural-historical value
Länsi-Herttoniemi has several small rocky park areas, some of which are in need of renovation. Rocky park areas are a special Länsi-Herttoniemi feature to be preserved and an important part of the RKY area within the Länsi-Herttoniemi low-rise residential area. The project involves the renovation of F. E. Sillanpää park and Susitie-Karhutie park forest.
The west-east walkway in F. E. Sillanpää park must be renovated. The renovation must be carried out subtly to respect and preserve the environmental values during construction.
Susitie-Karhutie park forest features an unmaintained stone ash field and a bench, with a poor asphalt path connection from Susitie. There are two fine but dangerous stairs leading to the park forest from Karhutie. Susitie-Karhutie park forest was probably designed by city gardener Bengt Schalin.
