Rörstrandinkadun luoteenpuoleisessa päädyssä (Arabiankadun risteys) on suojatie jonka ylittää sadat lapset aamuisin ja iltapäivisin mennessään Arabian peruskouluun ja kadun kaakonpuoleisessa päädyssä (meren puoli) on autojen kääntöpaikka jota valitettavasti monet lapset käyttävät myös tien ylittämiseen, koska ainoat viralliset ylityspaikat ovat tuo ensin mainittu suojatie tai toisaalta merenranta.
Katu on suhteellisen pitkä ja koska Arabiankadun risteys on ”shikaani”, monet ajavat suojatien yli jarruttamatta ja samalla tavalla Arabiankadulta tultaessa. Lisäksi Arabiankadulta tultaessa monet ajavat suhteellisen kovaa loppuun asti, kääntöpaikan ohi.
Kummassakin päädyssä on (varsinkin lapsilla) hyvin rajattu näkyvyys talojen ja kasvuston vuoksi ja olen vuosien varrella nähnyt monta hätäjarrutusta kummassakin paikassa. Risteysalueen korotus pienentäisi nopeuksia oleellisesti ja tämä pienentäisi onnettomuusriskejä.
