Public art houses (community art spaces)
This proposal is about making art more accessible for all. It would be great if more people had the opportunity to try and practice different art forms!
One of the solutions could be creating more spaces for public art in old buildings in different areas of Helsinki. The idea is inspired by the Purkutaide project (http://www.purkutaide.com/). These public art houses would be open for all residents (kids and adults, young artists, art students, hobby groups etc.) and would provide areas and items for art creation (walls and surfaces for painting, recycled materials, tools etc.).
Additionally, there could be specially organized spaces for graffiti where kids and adults would be able to learn and improve their skills. People could offer to share their art skills with other residents: these 'art hours' could be booked through the centralized booking system e.g. on hel.fi website. Professional artists are also welcome to use the spaces and to teach others.
Budgeting: together with City experts
-to determine old buildings/premises that could be used for this purpose (these premises will then need to be cleared out and prepared to be used by residents)

Hey
During March, city experts have commented on the proposals on the OmaStadi website and the proposals will be finalized together with city experts also in teemaraksa online workshops. Not all proposals will be addressed at teemaraksa workshops, as some will be completed on the OmaStadi website by co-development and discussion.
Teemaraksa workshop for your proposal is taking place at 21.4.2021 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
It can happen that you will receive a message from the city expert to the comment field of your proposal that your proposal is ready as such and will proceed next to cost calculation. In this case, we will automatically cancel your registration for the workshop if you have already registered.
Register for the teemaraksa workshop by 5.4. 2021.
