Hyväksytty - Congratulations, your idea fulfills OmaStadi criteria! The next step is to develop the ideas into proposals together with citizens and city officials. The proposals can be created in the OmaStadi website from 11th of January to 28th of February 2021. Your idea can proceed to the voting only if you make a proposal of your idea in the Omastadi website of if someone else uses your idea in his or her proposal. Similar ideas in one area are developed into one proposal in workshops and in the Omastadi website. Co-creation starts with regional “Alueraksa” workshops that are organized in January and February. An online info about the co-development is organized 12th of January 2021. Please sign up for the workshops with registration form: https://bit.ly/3oAAlO1 You can find more info about co-creation, online info and workshops in the Omastadi website: https://omastadi.hel.fi/pages/yhteiskehittaminen?locale=en Kind regards, OmaStadi-team

Healthy lights and sleep education
The artificial illumination affects us humans and other living creatures more than we have been thinking. It directly affects production of hormone melatonin and therefore quality of our sleep - which affects quality of our health and immunity. My idea is to educate people on how to illuminate their homes. And how important is good quality sleep. Light and sleep relate very much. The right temperature (colour) of the light can help us to sleep better and perform better. There is general problem with quality of interior illumination. During the day, when we should accept lots of daylight, we are closed in interiors where we do not get enough light, while in the evening we use strong lights and watch closely screens short before sleep time, which disturb our circadian rhythm and decrease quality of our sleep. And good quality sleep is essential for optimal health and mental performance. This could be used e.g. to educate children, but adults would deserve this too.

This sounds as if it would tie nicely into work Folkhälsan has been doing to educate people on the importance of healthy sleeping habits.
Thank you for your comment!)
Hello!
Please note that this idea will proceed in OmaStadi only if it is made into a proposal alone or together with other ideas of similar thought. At the moment it seems this idea is not connected to any proposals.
Proposals can be made until 28.2.2021 and remember, they must also be published – not just saved as draft.
Instructions on how to make and publish proposals can be found here: https://omastadi.hel.fi/pages/kuvalliset-ohjeet-ehdotuksen-tekemiseen?locale=en
No worries: proposals can be modified until the end of April. For this phase a contact person for each theme will also be named by the city divisions.
In any questions or need for help, do not hesitate to contact me!
