Artificial turf field for the sand field next to Arabia Comprehensive School

An artificial turf field will be built on the sand field in Arabianranta Sports Park. The artificial turf field will serve Arabia Comprehensive School, local residents and the local youth centre, playground and sports clubs.

Kenttä tasoitetaan ja laitetaan tekonurmikenttä, täysimittainen. Lisäksi hyvä laittaa myös kahden pikkukentän rajat.

Tämä on hieno aloite. Saataisiin ympäristössä asuville lapsille kunnon urheilumahdollisuudet niin talvella kuin kesällä.
Kun lapset saavat harrastaa lähellä, perheet voivat paremmin.
Tekonurmikenttä on turvallinen alusta monelle lajille.. Sekä aikuiset että lapset käyttävät sitä. Tekonurmikenttä lisää lasten & nuorten innostusta urheilulajeihin, mm. jalkapallo. Jalkapalloa harrastavilla on kohtuuttoman pitkä matka treeneihin/ peleihin, kun tekonurmikenttä puuttuu.
Onnistuuko luistinradan jäädytys tekonurmen päälle talvella? Kentällä pelataan paljon muutakin kuin jalkapalloa: pesistä, liitokiekkoa jne.
Tekonurmikenttä vähentäisi myös pölyhaittoja arabian koulun alueella. Eritoten koulun oppilaille ja henkilökunnalle tästä on hyötyä.
Erittäin hyvä hyvä aloite tämä. Tekonurmikenttä mahdollistaisi monipuolisen liikunnan harrastamisen tällä alueella.

Mietityttää ettei kentän ympäristövaikutuksiin ole otettu kantaa. Tekonurmikentät ovat valtava mikromuovin lähde.
Hyvä aloite - palvelee myös kasvavaa koulua. Jatkoon!

Before anything I have to say I am a huge fan of football and also a regular player, so in theory I would be really happy about having such a facility installed in the area.
BUT!
Is the City and people really interested in supporting such a facility? It is discussed, debated and also studied everywhere in Europe (and rarely in Finland) that these surfaces are triggering health issues and cancers (caused by the black rubber used on the fields)! Why are the City still in favor of these fields?
I understand that the climate doesn't fit with a natural field here, and maintenance would be at greater cost. But what about public health and at least public safety? Shall installation of such fields be put on hold for a while to have certainty of not being unhealthy?
stay home, close the curtains and put a tin foil hat on while others are having fun playing :)
