The voting result is determined according to the number of votes cast on each proposal and which plans can be included in the budget for the major district. The first plan chosen for implementation is the one that has received the most votes in the major district. After that, the focus is laid on the plan with the second most votes and whether it can be included in the remaining budget for the area. If the plan with the second most votes exceeds the remaining appropriation, then the focus is shifted to the plan with the third most votes. If it is possible to implement with the remaining appropriation, then it will be chosen for implementation. If it is not possible to implement, then the focus is shifted to the next one and so on. This way, smaller plans with less votes may also be included.
Example: I area X, the OmaStadi appropriation is 400,000 euros. The cost estimate for the plan A with the biggest number of votes is 200,000 euros and it is chosen for implementation. The cost estimate for the plan B with the second most votes is 50,000 euros. The remaining funds are 200,000 euros, so this plan can be implemented. Now the remaining appropriation amounts to 150,000 euros. The cost estimate for the plan C with the third most votes is 320,000 euros. However, this plan cannot be implemented as it cannot be included in the remaining appropriation. This goes on until the entire appropriation for the area has been used. The same method is used in the calculation of the voting result for the entire City. Watch a visualisation of how the voting result is determined here
